To do this, we’ve built a process grounded in curious discovery, allowing time to truly listen and pull at inspiration threads to mine gold. This ensures that the final design is a true reflection of your life and unique perspective.

Every project begins with a discovery call, a chance for us to discuss your needs, vision, timeline, and budget, to make sure this project is a good fit. From this initial meeting, we schedule a one-on-one consultation where we can walk through the space and further discuss the goals of the project and get a deeper understanding of your vision for it. We use all of this information to put together a comprehensive proposal for you, which includes a scope of work, fee estimate, and timelines.
Once the proposal is accepted, the contract signed, and the deposit received, the real fun begins! We meet to dive deeper into your inspiration, getting curious about the things you love, how the space will be used, and what emotions you’re hoping to elicit with it. We discuss your preferences, style, and needs, and look at inspiration to uncover design elements that are specific to you and the space.

When all the pragmatic and stylistic information has been gathered, we put our heads down, blinders on, and delve deep into the design development.
We establish your concept statement and the visual direction, which will be referenced throughout the project and acts as our guiding light. From here, we focus on the floor plan, and, following its approval, move on to the design plan (flooring, wallpaper, light switch covers) and the furniture plan (dependent on scope). We provide estimated costs for every item we specify at the beginning of the project to ensure no hidden surprises.
Once all items are finalized and the associated fees are paid, we begin ordering and preparing any and all documentation that is needed by the other trades.
During this time, we may also consult with your contractor, cabinet maker, et al to communicate our design vision.
Once all design elements have been approved, the project administration and construction phases begin. Looking slightly different for every project, it usually involves tracking orders, coordinating deliveries, communicating with trades, and ensuring the design vision is adhered to or adjusted as needed throughout the process. This is when site visits occur, quality checks are done, and changes are made as needed to ensure everything fits and works seamlessly.
Next, we coordinate the installation of furniture, fixtures, and lighting (depending on the scope) we then complete an overall styling of the space, adding details that make the whole design sing. From here, we complete a walkthrough with the client, receiving feedback and fulfilling minor changes as needed.
Finally, it’s yours! We celebrate by taking photos, cheers-ing, handing over the keys for you to fully enjoy your new space, and then taking a very long nap.
While we have some control over the design timeline, the construction/execution one is often out of the designer’s hands and can take several months or years, depending on the project size.
